GWF #3 Page #2
Gen. Skandor Akbar head of Devastation Inc. returned to Texas after the closing of the USWA in Dallas. He reformed his stable with men like Black Bart, "Gorgeous" Gary Young, Steven Dane, Rod Price, Iceman King Parsons, Action Jackson, Johnny Mantell, Guido Falcone, Vito Mussolini, Chris Youngblood, Mark Youngblood, John Hawk (Bradshaw of the Acolytes) and Moadib (Ahmed Johnson). This stable caused chaos for wrestlers like Ebony Experience (Harlem Heat), Terry Simms, Chaz Taylor, "Wild" Bill Irwin, Scott Putski and several others. Akbar made one wrestler's life miserable in the GWF… that wrestler being "Gentleman" Chris Adams. Iceman King Parsons and Adams renewed their legendary feud from WCCW but with a new addition in having Toni Adams (Chris ex-wife) as Parsons' valet. This feud lasted until the swansong of the GWF with no clear winner.
Devastation Inc. survived after the GWF in NWA Dallas/Deep South until May 1995. Akbar always guaranteed a winner in his stable and all of them turned out to be winners in pro wrestling history.
NEXT MONTH:
We’ll look at the Ebony Experience and the announcing staff in the GWF.
