My doubting quickly went away when I went with Lia and Siva out to a luxurious townhouse out by Diamond Head. It was owned by a good looking blonde. I think her name was Sharon. They townhouse was astonishing, like the stuff you see on TV. She drove around in a Corvette Convertible, I found out later that this was Siva's’ girlfriend. To steal a line from Stone Cold Steve Austin, "oh hell yeah" this is what I wanted.

I continued working out Ritchie, with Ipo, Leroy Brown, and occasionally Siva. Lars Anderson was there at most all of the training sessions. Although he never worked out with us, he usually came straight from the office. But he would sit in on his school and would direct us.

Ritchie and I were pretty close friends, and I kept asking him when would my first match be. His constant reply was "I don’t know". Then would day, he said Lia had been asking him how I was doing, and when did he think I would be ready. He said he told her pretty soon.

Maybe a week later, Ritchie asked me if I could get off work to go to Kauai and wrestle. I was tickled to death. Here I was getting to go to one of the outer islands.

My first night in the ring, took place at a theater. The ring was set up on a stage and the crowd was only on one side. I was booked in a six-man. My partners were Kini Popo and Rugger Rose. We were taking own Lars Anderson, and the Samoans (Farmer Boy Ipo and Leroy Brown).

I don't even remember anyone giving me a finish or anything. The match went back and forth, my partners had "taken over" on Lars. Rugger had Lars down and was choking him. Lars could really sell, I mean his face would turn beet red, it was really believable.

Finally, Rugger tagged me in and I immediately went back to working on ‘choking him’. I placed one right hand on his throat, and immediately saw that it didn’t look right, because his neck was so thick, so I immediately went to two hands.

Lars told me to keep ‘choking’ him. He sold it for a few seconds, then started working his way up to his feet. When he got to his feet he told me to relax. With his left hand he grabbed me in a headlock, and started to punch me. (His signature move was putting someone in a headlock, and while his opponent was in a headlock he would throw a series of rapid, short punches, with the last one being the big one, which he could really make it sound off.)

While in his headlock, he told me, "When I let you go, really sell it"! When he let me go I took a BIG bump, the crowd really popped. He ran over and ‘punched’ my partners who then came in. Lars partners joined in throwing my partners out of the ring. Lars then tagged in Farmer Boy Ipo, who gave me a few chops, (I felt like I was getting hit by boards, a head butt (which was pretty good), and a suplex before tagging his partner. When Leroy came in, the two went to different ropes and did their double splash. Leroy told me to stay down. My partners, were coming back in the ring, Lars and Leroy held them at bay. The referee then counted 1, 2, 3. Nothing spectacular.

After the matches, we went back to the hotel. I went to the restaurant to get something eat. Lia was there also. She summoned me over, and told me how good I did and gave me a little peck on the cheek. That is one of the amazing things about her… she could be hard-nosed when it came to business, but on a personal level she could be one of the most kind hearted, loving and nurturing people you will ever want to meet.

IN TWO WEEKS:

I meet Rocky, Ata, and Duane {the Rock} Johnson for the first time.
