One
thing I found amazing was that some of the Samoan wrestlers wives were bigger
than their husbands. Lia told me
that in Samoa, heavy women are considered very beautiful.
I kept that in mind, the following year, when we were getting ready to go
on tour to Samoa. Fue Manea asked
me if I was going with them, because there were a lot of beautiful women in
Samoa, and I might find myself a fine wife.
I told him I didn’t think I could make it.

Zoe, wanted to go to Florida and work for Dusty Rhodes.
His rival, in Hawaii, was Ritchie Magnett.
It was agreed that Matt and Ritchie would have a “loser leave town”
match, for the “Rookie of the Year” title.
Ritchie won the match, by breaking Matt’s leg with a figure four leg
lock. The boys carried him out, to
the dressing room, where Lars told Matt not to go down to Waikiki, because his
leg was supposedly broken. Lars
suggested he just stay at his apartment, until the day he left, which was four
days away.
