Somehow the Georgia Championship went from Stan Hansen to King Kong Mosca.  Not sure how Mosca ended up with the belt.  I believe Hansen was stripped of the belt and Mosca won a tournament.  Hansen had several attempts to regain the title but was unsuccessful.  He did get a measure of revenge by defeating Mosca in a non-title cage match at The Omni in July.  Hansen was also having problems with Ole Anderson.  Ole didn't like the fact that Stan was being cheered by the fans.  The two had some wild single and tag team matches.  Ole had a new partner in Ivan Koloff and Stan had a partner in Tommy Rich.

Stan soon found himself in a feud with Ric Flair.  During one match in Atlanta, the referee was beaten up very badly.  A rematch was signed with special referee  Cowboy Bill Watts.  Again things got out of hand and each man face a fine of $5000.00.  Hansen was not happy about the fine.  He complained bitterly on television about it.  Ole told Stan several times he would pay the fine.  Hanson ignored him.  Finally during a televised match where Hansen and Rich were taking on Sgt. Jacques Goulet and The French Angel, Anderson came out with the money.  Hansen walked over to Ole, grabbed the money and walked off with Anderson, leaving Rich to get mauled by Goulet and The Angel.  This started a wild feud between Rich and Hansen.  Stan Hansen turned his back on the fans to join forces with Ole Anderson and Ivan Koloff to once again become one of the most hated wrestlers in Georgia.

NEXT MONTH:

I will take a look at AWA Champion Nick Bockwinkle in Georgia.  The Masked Superstar comes to Georgia and a tag team tournament on Thanksgiving night.
