One story also was relayed to the TV audience to help build Ratamyas’ reputation:  It was explained that Ratamyas was the only man ever to defeat the Sheik in a cage match.  Although this contest probably never occurred the rumor spread like wild fire to enhance Bill Howard’s strong negative fan base.  

NEXT MONTH: 

We will look at the series of bouts between Ratamyas and Randy Savage.  These confrontations served to spark interest, especially drawing new fans to the arena for their contests.
