Hello everyone and welcome to "A Fan's Perspective".  I am Charles O'Brien and I will walk with you each month and take a look back at Joe Pedecino's Global Wrestling Federation.

I, myself, don't claim to be the most knowledgeable person in the world, nor am I the possessor of any great knowledge of the inner circles within the professional wrestling business.  What I am, is a person who was glued to my television every day at 4 p.m., to watch the GWF on ESPN and was thoroughly entertained by a product that, for its time, was quite enjoyable.

When the "smart-fan" looks back on GWF, I am quite sure that some of the first things they recall will be the end...the moon rocks and the bungee cords, and that is all well and good because there are plenty of people who only remember the Kansas City Chiefs era of Joe Montana's football career.  To continue with the comparison, ask any Cowboys fan about Joe Montana and I am confident they will tell you about "The Catch" thrown by Montana to Dwight Clark.  The correlation is simple.  The person who Montana impacted would clearly remember some of his finer moments.  The same holds true with GWF.  Ask anyone remotely impacted by GWF and they will surely come up with some great things:  the Cartel- the stepping stone for many of today's top talent; the Fan Interviews; the Dark Patriot.  The list goes on.  It's elements such as these that have impacted me and, in which, I will focus on during our time together. 

Hopefully, you will enjoy my ramblings.  I intend on having some fun with the material and with the concept as well.  So sit back, enjoy and always remember to keep it in "A Fan's Perspective!"
