MACW #34 Page #2
TOP TEN MOST HATED
Rip Hawk
A brutal, sadistic wrestler who would stop at nothing to win. And win he did! Whether as a singles wrestler, or with his tag team partner Swede Hanson, the man known to JCP fans as “The Profile” caused many a heartache to his opponents and fans around the territory.
Johnny Valentine
Valentine was like a locomotive of pain and suffering that ran rampant through MACW until the plane crash in October of 1975 that ended his career. JV was a top draw for JCP for a couple of years.
Ole Anderson
Ole was a member of one of the greatest and well-known “families” of wrestling. Ole proved over and over that he was a tough guy in the ring, even sacrificing his own “brother” to win a match!
Ric Flair
The quintessential heel. His braggadocios nature, his irascible personality, and his dedication to wrestling has made the Nature Boy one of the top wrestling icons of all time. He would take any low road to be victorious, as proven time and time again by his actions. The fans simply loved to hate him.
Baron Von Raschke
A German juggernaught that cause a lot of havoc in JCP for many years. His displeasure with “der Amerikan pigs” was cause enough for der Baron to stand atop the Most Hated list in JCP for a long time…and “dat is all da people need to know!”
Angelo Mosca
Also known as Big Nasty, brutalized many wrestlers during his stay in MACW. Twice he won the MA TV title and wasn’t afraid to bend the rules…or his opponents!
Greg Valentine
Followed in his father’s footsteps seemingly with ease. Greg’s style was reminiscent of Johnny’s, but his intensity level seemed to be just a tad bit more sadistic. The angle where he broke Wahoo McDaniel’s leg on television is always on a Top Ten list of memorable wrestling moments.
Sgt. Slaughter
The big ex-Marine from Parris Island was a major influence on the MACW scene. He would often take shortcuts to win, and the fans didn’t appreciate it one bit. He also was instrumental in developing his “recruits” to follow in his footsteps…Pvt. Don Kernoodle and Pvt. Jim Nelson.
Nikita Koloff
A protégé of another Russian bad man, his uncle Ivan Koloff. From 1984 until 1987, Nikita was top dog in JCP pound. His power and brutality was a major challenge for any competitor who was brave enough to climb into the ring with him.
Tully Blanchard
A schoolyard bully who came in MACW with a big chip on his shoulder. Not many could knock it off though. His awesome and unforgettable “I Quit” match with Magnum TA at Starrcade 1985 still has wrestling fans talking today about the level of pain and intensity that took place.
