April 16th 1981- Ivan Koloff defeats Ricky Steamboat for the Mid-Atlantic title in Norfolk, Virginia.

April 29th 1981- Sweet Ebony Diamond (Rocky Johnson) defeated Greg Valentine in the tournament final for the NWA T.V. title and after the match Rocky unmasked for the crowd.

May 1st 1981- Ole and Gene Anderson defeat the team of Paul Jones and The Superstar (Bill Eadie) for the NWA World Tag titles in Richmond, Virginia.

May 1981- A man entered the area known as "King James the 1st" and with Lord Alfred Hayes as his manager he started a feud with Johnny Weaver for a couple of months, but he disappeared. Then later on in the Fall, he returned to the area as the "Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant and the territory was never the same.

June 13th 1981- Ric Flair fought Ivan Koloff (who was brought in to be a bounty hunter for Piper) for the Mid-Atlantic title in a steel cage match from Greensboro, North Carolina in a great match where Ole and Gene Anderson interfered (which was very rare at the time) and destroyed Flair until the faces could make the save.

June 27th 1981- Nikolai Volkoff and Chris Markoff defeat Dewey Robertson and Johnny Weaver for the Mid-Atlantic Tag Team belts in Charlotte, North Carolina.

June-July 1981- Flair starts carrying around a aluminum baseball bat to attack Koloff and the Anderson’s until he was "suspended" by the NWA and even then Flair would go and buy a ticket in the cheap seats in every arena to run down the stands and jump Koloff and the Anderson’s. This also led to matches with Flair and other faces to fight the Anderson’s in matches were there was no rules and they drew huge houses around the territory.

July 1981- Flair, Blackjack Mulligan, and Jim Crockett went into partnership and started a group in Knoxville, Tennessee. Knoxville had lots of wrestling tradition and things could’ve worked out, but Flair was about to step up his career and Crockett didn’t have a lot of time, so it left Mulligan, Les Thatcher, and Kevin Sullivan to run it. The promotion ended a short time later.

July 6th 1981- Dusty Rhodes retains his NWA World title by defeating the Iron Sheik in Greenville, SC.

July 7th 1981- Dusty Rhodes retains his NWA World title by defeating "King James" Jimmy Valiant in Raleigh, North Carolina.

July 11th 1981- Dusty Rhodes retains his NWA World title by defeating Gene Anderson in Spartanburg, SC.

July 1981- JCP decides to move their TV tapings to WPCQ in Charlotte from WRAL in Raleigh, ending a great 8 year run of TV tapings.

August 8th 1981- Wahoo McDaniel defeats Roddy Piper for the U.S. title in Greensboro, North Carolina.

August 18th 1981- After beating Piper for the U.S. title, Wahoo was wrestling Rene Goulet in a TV match when Roddy Piper showed up with Abdullah The Butcher to take out Wahoo and Abby just brutalized Wahoo in a very bloody angle… so bloody that the camera shot was digitalized so you couldn’t see how gory it was. Wahoo would eventually have to vacate the U.S. title a month later.

September 5th 1981- Dusty Rhodes retains his NWA World title by defeating Ivan Koloff in Richmond, Virginia.

September 6th 1981- Ron Bass defeats Greg Valentine for the NWA TV title in Asheville, North Carolina. Also on the same day, Dusty Rhodes defeated Valentine to retain his NWA title in Charlotte, North Carolina.

September 17th 1981- The "Nature Boy" Ric Flair becomes the NWA World champ for the 1st time by defeating Dusty Rhodes in Kansas City, Missouri. Flair’s star is born and his career was never the same.

September 24th 1981- Flair’s 1st defense of his newly won NWA title in his home territory was against one of his main rivals in Ole Anderson which saw Flair get the win in Norfolk, Virginia.

October 4th 1981- Sgt. Slaughter defeats Ricky Steamboat in the tournament final for the U.S. title in Charlotte, North Carolina.

October 10, 1981- Ricky Steamboat regains the Mid-Atlantic title from Ivan Koloff in Greensboro, North Carolina.

October 1981- Gene Anderson gets injured in a match and so the NWA World Tag Team titles were vacated until February 1982.

November 1st 1981- Roddy Piper defeats Ricky Steamboat in a great match for the Mid-Atlantic title in Greensboro, North Carolina.

November 3rd 1981- Ivan Koloff defeats Ron Bass for the NWA T.V. title in Charlotte, North Carolina.

November 26th 1981- Ric Flair retains his NWA World title by defeating Ole Anderson again in Greensboro, North Carolina.

December 1981- Jack Brisco would enter the territory and made the talent roster even more greater so that the next year would be yet another great one for the JCP fans.
