Top 10 Tag Team of The NW - Mike Rodgers The Northwest has a long tradition and we are going to trace the tag team division back through history. Can you predict who will be in the top 10 and who will be the Number 1 Tag Team? Number 10 - The Sheepherders (Bushwhackers & The Kiwis) It may be getting hard to remember that this used to be a kick ass team. The comedy only came in later years of the WWF. Here in the NW they held the tag titles 3 times beating such teams as Adrian Adonis & Ron Starr, Stan Stasiak & Dutch Savage, Roddy Piper & Rick Martell among others. Number 9 - Buddy Rose & Ed Wiskwoski This team held the NW tag titles on 3 different occasions. They were one of the top tag teams of the late 70’s. They had 11 years between reigns 2 & 3. They also held the World tag titles in San Francisco. Col. DeBeers was Buddy Rose’s most successful tag partner. Number 8 - The Southern Rockers Steve Doll & Scott Peterson This team came together as a good looking babyface team and they became one of the most successful tag teams of the 80’s. They held the tag titles on 6 different occasions. When Peterson quit wrestling, Doll teamed with Rex King to try and sustain the Southern Rockers. Scott Peterson was killed a few years later in a car accident. Number 7 - Pepper Martin & Shag Thomas This team held the tag titles on 4 occasions during 1964-65. They beat such teams as The Mad Russian & El Sheeref, Stan Stasiak & Haru Sasaki, Tony Borne & Mr. Fuji among others. Number 6 - Rip Oliver & Dave Sierra People might scoff at this but they held the tag belts on 7 occasions with Sierra’s different personas including The Destroyer, The Assassin & Top Gun. May have been a situation where they were on top at a low period of time. More...
