- Wes Mulholland When you think about how long ago some of the great classic matches were in the Bay Area it's almost hard to believe we are talking about matches and people 20, 30 even 40 years ago. The way things change in the wrestling business and the love or hatred some of us felt for the wrestlers. I thought it would be fun for the fans of the San Francisco booking office to do a where are they now. To do a story on this the first man you would need to talk about would be the man who was the main reason this booking office was a success. Roy Shires passed away in 1992 and Ray Stevens passed in 1996; some of the other Bay Area's wrestling greats whom are no longer with us include Ripper Collins, Terry Garvin, Jerry Monti, Jerry London, Peter Maivia, Moondog Lonnie Mayne, The Mummy Benji Ramirez, Skull Murphy, Stan Stasiak, Bearcat Wright, Suni War Cloud, Jonathan Boyd. I am sure there are many other great wrestlers from the Bay Area not mentioned above. I got a lot of these names from garywill.com and this message board. Some of the other great wrestlers still alive are Pat Patterson- Now famous as one of McMahon’s stooges and a very important part of the WWF’s success Pepper Gomez- A few years ago Pepper was living in SF and a greeter at Scoma’s Restaurant on Fisherman’s wharf. Rocky Johnson-Father of the Rock, Rocky lives in Davie Florida with his wife Ata and works for that cities Parks and Recreation Department. Don Carson-is retired and living in San Antonio Texas Mr.Fuji - Has a wrestling school outside of Knoxville Tenn. and works at Regal Cinema’s as a ticket taker Mighty Igor-Lives in Virginia Lars Anderson-still involved in Wrestling lives in Hawaii.
