Mid-South Wrestling always gave fans a healthy exciting tag team scene. Some of the biggest names and best wrestlers in professional wrestling history competed in the Mid-South tag team division. This month we have the All Time Top 10 Tag Teams in Mid-South Wrestling history. This list is part scientific and part personal opinion, but whether or not this list represents your Top 10, it’s still a solid representation of the best in Mid-South tag team history.

10. Junkyard Dog and Mr. Olympia
When: 1982
Title Reign: 5-5-82 to 10-27-82
Big Feuds: vs. The Rat Pack

To Sum It Up: An unlikely, but hugely successful duo

When Ted DiBiase turned against Junkyard Dog and formed The Rat Pack with Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Matt Borne, JYD needed a partner he could trust. Enter Mr. Olympia. The masked man knew the ins and outs of scientific wrestling. JYD knew how to brawl and had greater fan support than any other star in Mid-South. Although on paper the styles do not seem to mesh, in the ring the styles blended well as did the personalities of the team. All in all they held the Mid-South Tag Team Title for just shy of 6 months and fought off all comers. They may not be as well remembered as some teams, but Junkyard Dog and Mr. Olympia deserve their place in history.

9. The Fantastics
When: summer and fall of 1984 and Second half of 1985
Title Reigns: None
Big Feuds: vs. The Midnight Express, vs. Bill Dundee and Dutch Mantel

To Sum It Up: Under appreciated

Tommy Rogers and Bobby Fulton had all the speed, scientific skill, and charisma necessary to earn a rightful place among the top tag teams in Mid-South and indeed pro wrestling history. Although Rogers and Fulton never held the Mid-South Tag Team Title (they would later hold the UWF Tag Team Title), their talent was undeniable.  More...
