As stated last month, we want to take a look at the title histories of MACW.

Mid- Atlantic T.V. Championship

This was a very important title in MACW, as it was used as a springboard to other titles and it gave guys more exposure on TV, which was important back then and still to this day. Here are all of the title holders of this prestigious belt.

1.Ole Anderson (?/73) - Defeated James J. Dillon in a tournament final.

5.Ric Flair (06/03/75-Raleigh, NC, USA)
6.Paul Jones (2) (06/10/75-Raleigh, NC, USA)
Vacated (possibly due to Jones' leg injury)
7.Angelo Mosca (06/76) - Defeated Tim Woods.
8.Paul Jones (3) (06/76)
9.Angelo Mosca (08/76)
10.Tim Woods (10/16/76-Probably in Raleigh, NC possibly in Greensboro)
11.Greg Valentine (11/15/76)
12.Rufus R. Jones (?/76)
13.Greg Valentine (2) (01/77)
14.Rufus Jones (2) (03/77-Ashville, NC, USA)
15.Ric Flair (2) (05/77)
16.Ricky Steamboat (06/22/77-Raleigh, NC, USA)
17.Baron Von Raschke (10/15/77) - Von Raschke was the last wrestler known as the Mid-Atlantic TV Champion. He was given recognition as the first "NWA" TV champion in early March of 1978 (sometime between March 2 and March 7).

19.Baron Von Raschke (2) (03/26/78-Greensboro, N.C)
20.Paul Jones (3) (06/07/78) - The Baron had challenged Steamboat & Jones to defend their "NWA" tag belts against he and a mystery partner and offered to put up his TV belt against one of them in exchange (Jones won a coin toss). In the match, Von Raschke injured Jones' back so he was easy pickings later on, and he and Greg Valentine beat Steamboat & Jones for the tag straps that same night.
21.Ricky Steamboat (2) (06/10/79-Asheville, N.C.) - Vacated in 1980
22.Masked Superstar (Bill Eadie) (04/80-Raleigh, NC, USA) - Defeated Blackjack Mulligan in a tournament final. Vacated in 10/80. More...
