This month we will look at the 2 most important titles and their histories in the territory, the United States Title and the NWA World Tag Titles.

The United States Championship

This was the major singles title of the region as the Mid-Atlantic title was considered the springboard to it. A lot of great wrestlers held this title and there were a hell of a lot of great matches for this belt. So here are the men that held the JCP version of the U.S. title:

1.Harley Race (?/75 - Tallahassee, Florida ) - Defeats Johnny Weaver in tournament final
2.Johnny Valentine {John Wisniski Sr.} (07/03/75- Greensboro, North Carolina, United States) - Johnny Valentine's career was ended in a plane crash, causing the NWA United States Title to become vacant on 10/04/75.
3.Terry Funk (11/09/75-Greensboro, North Carolina, United States) - Terry Funk defeated Paul Jones in the final of a sixteen-man tournament to crown a new champion.

5.Blackjack Mulligan {Robert Windham} (03/13/76)
6.Paul Jones (2) (10/16/76-Greensboro, North Carolina, United States)
7.Blackjack Mulligan (2) (01/77)
8. Bobo Brazil {Houston Harris} (?/77-Norfolk, Virginia, USA )
9.Ric Flair {Richard Morgan Fliehr} (07/29/77- Richmond, Virginia, United States)
10.Rick Steamboat {Richard Blood} (11/11/77-Richmond, Virginia, United States)
11.Blackjack Mulligan (3) (02/78-Greensboro, NC, USA)
12.Tim Woods/Mr. Wrestling (03/78-Greensboro, NC, USA)
13.Ric Flair (2) (04/09/78-Charlotte, NC, USA)
14.Rick Steamboat (2) (12/18/78-Toronto, Ontario, CANADA)
15.Ric Flair (3) (04/01/79-Greensboro, NC, USA) - Ric Flair vacated the title on 8/12/79 after winning the NWA World Tag Team Title.
16.Jimmy Snuka (09/01/79-Charlotte, North Carolina, United States) - managed by Buddy Rogers {Herman Rohde} & Gene Anderson, Jimmy Snuka defeated Rick Steamboat in a tournament final to crown a new champion.
